11/18/11 - The 2011 KRA Banquet forms have mailed out. Please note the RSVP date of November 30th. We look forward to seeing you at the banquet on December 10th!

11/16/11 - If you are looking to race even with the weather heading south, check out the indoor race that will be running at the Conseco Fieldhouse in December! See the Indy Karting Classic website for details!

11/7/11 - NCMP is closed for the winter. Thank you to all the competitors and spectators for making the 2011 season another successful and fun year!

The KRA Banquet is scheduled for Saturday December 10th. We will be posting the banquet form in the next few days.

11/2/11 - This will be the last weekend that NCMP will be open before we close for the winter! The weather looks fantastic for this weekend so come on out for one last chance to run your kart or drive the rentals before the snow starts flying! Also don't forget to drain your TaG karts of water before the weather falls below freezing. NCMP can handle this for you for $20, please call the track if you need us to drain your water system for you.

KRA Points with drops has been posted. Please double check your points, this is the final points total so if there is an issue we need to know before the banquet.

11/1/11 - New Castle Motorsports Park is open for practice and kart rentals Wednesday through Sunday. The weather for later this week and weekend is looking nice! This might be the last chance to get on track before the weather turns. See the hours page for more information.

10/25/11 - Starting at 10am this morning Trey Shannon started his 24 hour quest to break the Guiness World Record for most miles in a kart in a 24 hour period! Ekartingnews.com has the story online. You can watch Trey's progress on our scoring app on the NCMP Live page. The video playing is not Trey but the replay of the 2011 Robopong 200 Presented by Bridgestone and NOS.

10/24/11 - New Castle Motorsports Park honored Dan Wheldon's love of karting this Sunday at the 2011 Robopong 200 Presented by Bridgestone and NOS. An event that Dan participated in six times, led numerous times and won in 2005 with the presentation to this year's winners of the Dan Wheldon Cup trophy. After 200 hard laps and multiple lead changes, Mark Dismore Sr. and NCMP alum and reigning Indy Lights Champion Josef Newgarden took the win over Sam Beasley and Brandon Jones. It was an emotional day for everyone involved and all the competitors will miss going wheel to wheel with a great driver and an even better person. The Dan Wheldon Trophy will go on permanent display at NCMP in the near future.

If you would like to watch the 2011 Robopong 200 Presented by Bridgestone and NOS the video is online at Livestream here. The audio was on a separate channel from the video with live audio coverage from RaceFanNetwork.com so there is no sound. Thank you to everyone who came out to watch or participate. And a special thank you to all the volunteers that make this race possible.

10/20/11 - All teams that are running this years Robopong 200 Presented by Bridgestone and NOS must read the and understand the rules sheet that you can download here. This is not all the rules which are available here but these are some very important reminders and information that you need to know and keep in mind.

10/19/11 - With the announcement from Indycar for a public memorial service for Dan Wheldon in Indianapolis on Sunday at 4pm, we have changed our raceday schedule to allow everyone the chance to attend. We thank everyone for their understanding in making this schedule change. Please help us get the word out on the raceday schedule change. New Schedule Here

Sunday October 23rd

8am to 8:30am - Morning Warmup

9:30am - Karts Gridded on Front Stretch

10am - Green Flag for the 2011 Robopong 200 Presented by Bridgestone and NOS and the race for the Dan Wheldon Cup!

In honor on Dan Wheldon the Robopong 200 Presented by Bridgestone and NOS trophy will be known as the Dan Wheldon Cup and we will have the trophy on display at NCMP with Dan's likeness and past winners displayed on the trophy after this year's race.

Here is the latest entry list for the teams in pursuit of the Dan Wheldon Cup at this years Robopong 200 Presented by Bridgestone and NOS.

10/18/11 - We will be checking for tire prep at RoboPong, you will be DQ'ed, don't do it.

10/17/11 - We are all deeply saddened with the tragic loss of our friend Dan Wheldon. Dan was a past winner of the Robopong 200 and he loved competing in the event every year. He loved being behind the wheel of a go-kart just as much as he loved driving an Indycar. Dan always had time for an autograph or a photo and treated everyone who came up to him like a long lost friend. We are all going to miss Dan more than words can convey. We will be dedicating this year's Robopong 200 to the memory and the life that Dan led. Please keep Dan's wife Susie and her two young boys in your thoughts.

10/12/11 - The 2011 Robopong 200 Presented by Bridgestone and NOS is only a week and a half away! If you are going to enter but still don't have all your details figured out, please go ahead and enter so we can properly organize the event, you can update your team details as needed! 5/25/11 - A message from the Eppink Family -

Joey, I and the entire Eppink family would like to thank all of you for a wonderful day on Saturday (May 21). Thank you to Mark Dismore and everyone at NCMP.  All of you went above and beyond to make sure that everything ran smoothly and that the day was successful.  We would also like to thank everyone who participated in the silent auction.  Whether you donated or purchased items, we appreciate your support.  Your kindness was overwhelming and Joey and I feel so fortunate to belong to such an amazing racing family.  Thanks to your generosity, Joey will enjoy racing another year at NCMP.  We know John was smiling down on all of us Saturday and was proud to be friends with so many of you, as are Joey and I.

Mary Jo and Joey Eppink

You can also contact Jim Russell Jr. via email for more information as well.

5/7/11 - We have installed a new live scoring program for all KRA events (and hopefully other events) at NCMP that allows Android and iPhone users to download an inexpensive app and have live scoring right on their phones! You can download the program from the app stores by typing in "Race Monitor", the publisher is Karting Coach, Inc. For more information or to download the app straight from the publisher you can visit their website here. The app will also work at other tracks that employ the Race Monitor program and since the app runs through your phone connection you don't even have to be at the track to see live scoring.

5/5/11 - RACE POSTPONED - This Saturday's KRA race has been postponed until Saturday May 21st due to the weather forecast for rain. That race weekend will now be a double header with the Eppink family benefit race set for that Saturday. 4/18/11 - As many of you may already know it is with great sadness that the sport of karting has lost a dear friend, father and husband this Sunday at NCMP. John Eppink was enjoying a great day of racing with his son Joey and his wife Mary Jo when he suddenly felt faint and collapsed. At this point we are all in shock and very saddened. If there is a bright side to all this, John was participating in a sport he truly loved and was spending a beautiful day with his wife and son at the race track. Details on John's services will follow as soon as arrangements have been made. Please keep Joey and Mary Jo in your thoughts and prayers. We will all miss you John.

3/31/11 - NOTICE - We have had a date change in the 2011 NCMP and KRA Series schedule. Race #6 for KRA has been moved to June 12th and the July 17th weekend is no longer a KRA Double Header. Please make sure you print off the latest schedule and throw away the old schedule!

3/29/11 - The Racers Grill will be open this Saturday from 11am to 4pm.

This Sunday is the opening round of the KRA Series for 2011! Our online pre-entry form is up and going so you can enter online.

3/23/11 - NCMP has different operating hours this year. Please see the hours page for the updated times.

3/7/11 - NCMP currently has five garages remaining for the 2011 season. With gas prices going through the roof this could be a substantial savings in travel costs by not towing a trailer to the track every race. There are more savings to renting a garage than just fuel prices, call Mike Adams for more information if you are interested! 765-987-8090 or email.

2/21/11 - The 2011 KRA Membership form is now online.

2/17/11 - The 2011 NCMP Schedule is now posted! It is subject to change but it is most likely final. We have one TBA announced event in June that we are still working out the details on and will post more information when we can. Click Here for PDF of 2011 Schedule.

2/8/11 - We have posted the class list for the 2011 KRA season along with any updated rules and weights. Another change is with the Clone class. We have reevaluated the engine claiming rule and have raised the claim fee to $300.

We know everyone is waiting on the 2011 NCMP schedule and we are actively working on it. We hope to post the final schedule in the next week.

2/7/11 - Many organizations are requiring Snell 2005 and newer helmets starting with this season. For open practice and KRA events at NCMP our insurance provider will NOT require Snell 2005 or newer helmets for this season. They will require Snell 2005 and newer for the 2012 season so please be prepared for that. Our insurance provider for KRA and for NCMP open practice is NKA and they have sent us the following -

"All helmets used at an NKA event must be full coverage designed for competitive motorsports use complying at Snell 2000, SFI ratings 24.1 (youth), 31.1, 31.1a, 41.1, 41.1a or newer standards.

Effective 1/1/2012, the helmet classification ratings will be SA2005, K2005, M2005, and/or previously stated SFI ratings."

Remember this ONLY applies to NKA insured events like KRA. Other organizations may not allow a Snell 2000 helmet for their races even if they run at NCMP.

1/11/11 - Bridgestone has announced new tire compounds for 2011 that will replace the current line of tire compounds and KRA has decided to adjust the class tires to the following for the 2011 season -

All TaG Classes and Stock Moto - YLB or YKC, either tire allowed

All Other KRA Classes (except clone and kid kart which are open tires) - YLC or YKC, either tire allowed

We will be updating the class list and posting the 2011 schedule in the next few weeks. We know people are waiting on the 2011 schedule and we will announce the schedule as soon as we can.

12/10/10 - We are selling our older rental karts (these are NOT the new Arrow karts we are currently renting). We have 13 Rental Karts with 1 Season Old Honda Engines and 7 Partial Karts with lots of spare parts. We are not interested in splitting up the package, first $5000.00 takes all. The 2010 Robopong 200 Presented by Bridgestone is this coming Sunday! We are still accepting team entries at the standard entry fee and we will also accept entries at the track on race weekend. The Route 66 Sprint Series will be holding a double-header/three-day event at the New Castle Motorsports Park (NCMP) on July 30 – August 1 that will utilize two different configurations of the track.

This is a rare opportunity to race on the Iron Man configuration of the track on Saturday, July 31. The National Track configuration will be utilized on Sunday, August 1 which provides a good racing opportunity for those also competing in the following weekends WKA Man Cup event scheduled at NCMP. This event will hold practice on Friday for both configurations of the track and a full race program for all 15 classes on both Saturday and Sunday. There will also be one round of practice held on Saturday and Sunday.

The Route 66 Series invites KRA racers to come out and race against some of the best kart racers in the mid-west during their 8-week summer break from the KRA series. The Route 66 Series has averaged 199 entries at each event this season.

3/21/10 - We are working on providing live content during our KRA races and special race events this season at NCMP. This is a work in progress and we are sure there will be some speed bumps and technical glitches along the way as we figure it all out so please keep that in mind and bear with us! One new feature we have is MyLaps Practice. If you have a MyLaps personal transponder (formerly AMB) you can use it on practice days and the results will automatically post to NCMP's MyLaps Practice page. We haven't worked all the bugs out yet but it is available. The MyLaps Practice page is available here.

Also we plan on providing live timing on our website during all KRA races and NCMP special events like the Ironman 100 and the Mazda Robopong 200 Presented by Bridgestone. The page for the live timing can be found here. We also plan on providing live video during some of our events this season but there is still a lot to do on that front!

3/15/10 - The KRA Series will have the Komet KPV Junior for the 12-15 year olds this season. The KPV class with KRA will allow the new style or old style clutch.

2/23/10 -The 2010 KRA Membership form is now online.

2/2/10 - For 2010 KRA will add a Clone engine 4 cycle class. The Clone engines are low cost and must be run very close to box stock and the class is becoming very popular at many tracks. We will be using the new WKA International Class engine rules available here (sections 710 thru 710.20). KRA will also have a $200 claimer rule on the clone class for the engine. The Clone class will run on track with the Briggs Animal class and scored seperately. The class will also have open tires and sizes and a minimum weight of 365 lbs. The class will also allow CIK style bodywork or traditional style 4 cycle bodywork.

We realize this is a fairly outlaw approach in regards to bodywork and tires but a lot of new karters have purchased a wide variety of used, low cost equipment and this class will hopefully allow them to race without further expense. For a complete breakdown of the rules please visit the Classes Page.

1/21/10 - Happy New Year! The 2010 KRA Schedule is now available in PDF here!

After attending the WKA sprint race at Daytona as well as the first round of the Florida Winter Tour and seeing that the 08 Leopard is every bit the equal to the 09 Leopard, KRA will allow the 09 Leopard to compete in all KRA events. If for some unforeseen reason the 09 Leopard were to gain an advantage there would be a weight penalty imposed on the 09 Leopard.
